53. BE A BEA

heartBea Arthur is the one woman I’d place my bet on who could take on Moses as he was parting the seas for her incredulent and flawless ability to shred others in the same sitcom room with her to bits BUT, but the one woman I’d want to seek out for a cathartic laugh anytime, anywhere.

And seeing how this is coming months late (even to qualify as a tribute blog) I’d say Bea is one helluva woman in the feminist hall of fame.

This is one woman who can expertly

1. stare you down your panties and get a giggle out of you

2. carry herself around with much pizazz and flair even with her timbre-like baritone voice

3. convince you that even with her manly ways, she’s all woman with wit that can slice and dice with a brain to match. Watch her roar.

Bea, thanks for the many wonderful years of laughs you gave us on ‘Maude’ and ‘The Golden Girls’ and the strength of character and intelligence that so many women have looked up to you for.

You’re terrible at gut-wrenching monologues but you certainly have got priceless one-liner comebacks that many will remember you for.

You’re an absolute mutt Bea! (And I mean that in a good way!)

And to all young women out there not familiar with Bea Arthur, watch the video and learn what makes for greatness in a woman.

About thejellyfarm

In real life, I am a television writer and producer...er no...scratch...a television director....noo, scratch....a media loser.....wait, that doesn't sound quite insulting enough....... OK, ahem. In real life, I'm an idiot box expert with a penchant for the creative. In short, I'm a loser with no focus or direction in life. I just go where the creative flow takes me. Mostly it takes me to clogged up drains and stinky oceans but it's going.......going.....somewhere. And this blog is an expression of that mindblowing roadblock. Creative frustration is a great motivator and here is a result of that.
