92. RAINBOWS & SUNSETS

Kermit the Frog once sang a tune about why there were so many rainbows but if rainbows were free, I believe everyone should have one.

It’s one of the best things on Earth that truly makes me happy and this evening I managed to catch not just one, but two just by the office. (See picture below – if you look closely, there’s one more faint rainbow right behind the first fully formed one.)

A writer once told a reporter when asked ‘Why do rainbows make people happy?’ and the writer replied the following:

The colours of a rainbow are light, fresh and happy and since they are so rare, they elicit a sense of awe and delight in addition to bringing the promise of sunshine with the blue sky usually on the horizon’.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s rarity is what brings a skip and hop to our hearst with its joyous colours. It also makes you realise how it is one of many beautiful phenomenons our Universe presents to us and I’m truly grateful to have seen it today, especially when I’ve been down in the dumps for awhile now.

God seems to have heard me and I’m delighted because not only did he give me 2 rainbows this evening, he also gave me a gorgeous sunset (See below). A 2-in-1 special.

What more could I ask for?
